Does your hardwood floor need refinishing?
If your hardwood flooring has sustained scratches or dings, hardwood floor resurfacing can effectively restore your hardwood flooring to its previous beautiful look. However, it is crucial to ensure that your hardwood floorboards are of sufficient thickness to be refinished, with at least 1/8" of wood above the tongue and groove. Before you begin wood floor refinishing, It is recommended that your heat and humidity are properly set and maintained. If the floor feels spongy, sags, or has cupping, buckling, or warping boards, they may need to be replaced before hardwood floor refinishing takes place.
Hardwood floor refinishing process
-
We begin by cross cutting the hardwood floor. (as seen in the video above.)
-
Filling the hardwood floor with specific hardwood species filler to seal cracks. (may not stay in floor)
-
We then complete the final cut with the Lagler Hummel Hardwood Sander, leaving a restored surface.
-
Edging & palm sanding along the baseboards / walls and cupboards. (see above)
-
We then screen and prep the hardwood floor for staining, or coating. (see above)
